N89 logo + teeshirt illustrations

Client: Nature 89
Brief: Logo for client in New York, a startup company introducing certified 100% organic cotton in the States. Developing artwork ideas for tee shirt line for trade show. All artwork are copyrighted.

Seeing that the source for the natural cotton is from India and the owner of the business liked elephants, I designed the logo with a friendly elephant (complete with jewels/fashion) tipping/lifting a light cotton ball (with petals) that makes it also look like it was lifting a globe. Socio-environmental issues is not high priority on the US policy so I played with it as a hint for America (and big nations) to be shown the organic way by a gentle Indian baby elephant.

Through this process working with an old mate who worked in London before moving to NY - I've learnt how to spec in clothing (at least for tee shirts), and a few print techniques. Kinda surreal but cool to have my sketches on fully natural cotton teeshirts.
