YCU Prospectus 2003

WORK PORTFOLIO
Young Camden University prospectus 2003

(prospectus cover)

An 8-paged A5-sized prospectus. It's more like a booklet but that's what the client calls it hence the name stuck. Why change the invoicing title, after all it can be considered a mini prospectus. The blue colour chosen was contrasted with the Camden Summer University which ran throughout summer . The photograph featured is from the street dance class at its first stages. Filming and watching the lads perform on the YCU Showcase three months later, the latter was a vast improvement. Shows how much focus young people can commit to when push comes to shove, tough guys included!

The Young Camden University ran evening courses / workshops for young people who might like some extra-curricular activities after school hours. There were various courses like street dancing, Bollywood, photography (which I taught once a week), singing for confidence, gym training etc. This EU-funded scheme is now replaced by a broader agenda aptly named Positive Activities for Young People (PAYP).

During my teenage years we were pretty much left to our own devices. Young people these days have ample avenues to develop their skills and talent. It used to be a male-female equality or arts-science issue but right now the importance of empowering young people with knowledge and presence is an ongoing process for the next few years. Of course with big opportunities, come big responsibilities. Let's hope it's all for the best!
